 Learn Roulette Rules
Roulette is one of the oldest casino games. The house edge is reasonably low at around 5%. Roulette makes use of a wheel that spins and a ball. Eventually the ball stops and lands on a number on the wheel. Roulette has 37 or 38 numbers on the wheel. You can determine this by looking for the green spots labeled 0 and 00. If there is only one green spot then there are just 37 numbers. With the exception of 0 and 00 all numbers are either red or black, in an alternating pattern with 1 being red.

Bets

You may bet on any particular number in Roulette. The payout ratio is 35:1 plus you get back your initial bet, totaling 36:1. If the ball doesn’t land on your number then you lose your bet.

You may bet on red or black for a 1:1 payout, plus your initial bet back. The same goes for bets on odd or even numbers.

Betting on rows is permitted for an 11:1 payout ratio, plus your initial bet back. Betting on columns is common with a 2:1 payout ratio, plus the initial bet back.

You can also bet on the initial 12 numbers, the middle 12 numbers or the last 12 numbers. This bet offers a 2:1 payout ratio plus your initial bet back. Other bets that may be made are in the middle of two numbers or in the middle of 4 numbers.

Word of Caution

Don’t expect to beat the house with this game. Albert Einstein once commented, “You cannot beat a Roulette Table unless you steal from it.” Play for fun and divide your money up over many spins so you may make it last. This is a very fun game with high payout ratios on some bets. Don’t expect to win. Play only what you can afford to lose. It is a game that you must try at least once.
