 Baccarat Strategy
  • Always bet on Bank Hand.  Even with 5% commission the House Edge is lower on Bank Hand then on Player Hand.  This is due primarily with the rules of standing and drawing cards and the fact that Bank Hand gets to act last.
  • Do not pay attention to winning streaks.  The cards have no memory.  Just because Bank Hand won the last few rounds and there is a 50/50 chance of Bank Hand or Player Hand winning doesn’t mean that it is now time for Players Hand to win.  Repeat after me, “The cards have no memory.”
  • Never bet on Tie.  The chance of a Tie Hand is slim.  Even with the Payout Ratio being greater on Tie Hand it is not a smart bet.
  • Play for fun! Never bet more than you’re willing to lose.
  • Since there is no strategy involved in actually playing the game, you should use smart money management strategy to increase the likelihood of you walking away with a profit.
  • Keep back a percentage of all winnings.
  • The point of Baccarat is to have fun, and perhaps win a little.  You need to be disciplined to only play a certain amount of money and if you lose it all, you need to walk away.  If you start winning, you need to also have a strategy so that you do not lose all your winnings.  When you do win, it is nice to actually walk away with some of the winnings.
  • Take advantage of free drinks when offered, but don’t over indulge.  Getting drunk will make you stupid and you will do stupid things.  Why do you think the Casinos give free drinks to begin with? They want you to get drunk and play (and LOSE) more money than you planned.  Also, any strategies and good sense you do have will go out the window.
  • Pay attention to the style of Baccarat.  Some Casinos offer a 6 deck game.  Normal Baccarat is played with 8 decks.  The 6 deck game normally has a 4% commission on Bank Hand and does lower the House Edge.  Play when you can but don’t neglect playing Baccarat because you can’t find the 6 deck.  The 8 deck is still fun and the odds are still fair.
